The inaugural 2018 running of the Grand National

The inaugural 2018 running of the Grand National is now just a few months away with the 2017 fourth place Blaklion being all the rage for punters. He seems to have taken so well to the National fences in his two starts to date over them including a 9 length victory in the 2017 Beecher chase. He looks to be heading to the race with a prep run in the Cheltenham gold cup which has been a similar route to success in recent times from the likes of Many Clouds.

The latest Grand National odds has Blaklion as the 10/1 market leader and he is likely to take all the beating come April. With all this being said it requires a certain horse to have success in the race from stamina, jumping and of course being tough. Champions of the past had all of these such as Red Rum and Many Clouds. Check out this infographic to see the key attributes that are required to have success in this famous race.
