1. FIFA Women World Cup
June 7 – July 7
France will be the host country for the 2019 Women’s World Cup after they successfully host EURO 2016. Just like Canada in 2015, there will be 24 participating countries.
The USA is the defending champions from Canada 2015. The competition has 24 teams divided into 6 groups of 4 teams each. The top two in each group qualify for the round of 16 with 4 third place best loser.

Group B consists of Germany, China, Spain and South Africa.
Australia, Italy, Brazil and Jamaica will be at loggerhead in Group C.
Group D consists of England, Scotland, Argentina and former world champion Japan.
Group E consists of Canada, Cameroon, New Zealand and European champion from the Netherlands.
Defending champion United States of America, Thailand, Chile and Sweden will be looking to qualify in Group F.

2. Copa America
June 14 – July 7
Just 2016 when the centennial Copa America took place in the USA. It makes it feel like it happens every year. The FIFA World Cup might be the biggest international football tournament but Copa America is the oldest.
Chile won the centennial Copa America which makes it two consecutive crowns in two years. The 2019 Copa America will be hosted by Brazil and will be the 46th edition.
We will see a return back to the usual 12 teams tournament before the centennial celebration with 16 teams.
The invited nations are Japan and Qatar to make 12 teams along with the 10 CONMEBOL nations. This will be the first time in 26 years that Mexico won’t part of the Copa America as they look to participate in the Gold Cup.
Lionel Messi will be looking to use this opportunity to get his hand on his first international trophy for the senior team. After being the unfortunate team to play Chile in both of their Triumph in 2015 and 2016. Neymar and co will be looking to win their first trophy since 2007.

3. Africa Cup of Nations
June 15 – July 13
After so many years of complaint from club owners and players, CAF final move the Nations cup to the summer. This will be the first time it will be hosted in the summer. The initial was Cameroon but was stripped of the right when they are unable to meet the requirement.
The competition will take place in Egypt and coincidentally they won it the most. Confederation of African Football has another first for you this time around as the competition will have 24 teams for the first time. 8 more than the usual 16 teams that grace the tournament each time.
The defending champion Cameroon may have been stripped of hosting right but they look to defend their crown. There will be six groups of four countries with four best-placed third placed countries joining the top two from each group.
