Spanish football giants FC Barcelona are the world’s most\nsponsored club according to a report\nby Forbes<\/a>. Manchester United trail second while La Liga rivals Real Madrid\nare third. Barca makes $247 million every year through sponsorships, $45\nmillion more than the red devils and $47 million higher than Madrid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barcelona\u2019s reign at the top nearly ended earlier this year\nafter Audi, Gillette, Betfair and Lassa terminated their contracts with the club.\nBut now, the five-time Champions League winners have sealed a five-year deal\nwith betting firm 1XBet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFC Barcelona and 1XBET have signed a new sponsorship deal\nwhereby the online betting company will become a new Global Partner of the Club\nfor the next five seasons,\u201d the club confirmed on its official website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While FC Barcelona didn\u2019t reveal the financial terms of the\ncontract, 1XBET will be allowed to create marketing materials with the club\u2019s\nplayers. The bookie will also be permitted to place ads at Camp Nou\u2019s LED\nperimeter boards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1XBET has a similar deal with London-based EPL club\nTottenham Hotspurs. The bookmaker sets ads at the Spurs\u2019 new stadium and\noccasionally works alongside players to create marketing materials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barcelona\u2019s latest deal with the bookie brings the total\nnumber of major European clubs sponsored by 1XBET to three. Cardiff partnered\nwith the betting firm at the start of last year\u2019s season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Little bit about\n1XBET<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1XBET is a sports betting website established in 2007. The\ncompany originated in Russia but soon spread to the western European market,\nAsia, Africa and South America. It provides betting markets in all major\nsports. From football to basketball, American football to rugby, you\u2019ll\nconveniently find betting markets in your favourite sports and leagues on the\nwebsite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before partnering with Tottenham and Barcelona, 1XBET\npartnered with Asia-based and African sports organisations. 1XBET is the\nofficial betting sponsor of the African Cup of Nations, for example. It also\nholds deals with Italy’s Serie A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With its growing partnerships in Europe, 1XBET is sending a\nclear message to top tier betting companies like Bet365 and Betfair that it\nmeans business. The company may not be a top 10 betting site on List of Betting Offers<\/a>\ncurrently, but it\u2019s headed there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or is it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 More than a dozen\nbookmakers made partnerships with European clubs in the last five years. Bet365\nand Sky Bet sponsor the most clubs, with the former signing partnerships with\nnine La Liga sides last season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sky Bet, on the other hand, is the official sponsor of three\nEnglish football leagues. Betway, Betfair, Mansion Bet and Dafabet sponsor at\nleast one EPL club each. More betting companies compete for the same European\nteams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again, scores of non-betting companies also battle it out\nfor the chance to sponsor world-class European clubs. Barcelona, for instance,\nlet go UNICEF<\/a> as its official sponsor\nin 2010 in a bid to accrue more money from better-paying brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club agreed on a deal with Japan-based Rakuten soon\nafter that, and they\u2019ve been Barcelona\u2019s official jersey sponsors since then. Of\ncourse, the La Liga team has partnerships with multiple brands. Nike, Beko,\nKonami, Oppo and Samba Bank are some of the most familiar partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who Sponsors Real\nMadrid?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barcelona reigns supreme in club sponsorships, but who are\ntheir rivals\u2019 partners? Air travel brand Fly Emirates are Madrid\u2019s jersey\nsponsors in a fee valued at \u20ac70 million per year. The UAE-based company also\nsponsors Arsenal, PSG, AC Milan, New York Cosmos and the Arabian Gulf League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fly Emirate\u2019s deal with the Los Blancos began in 2013 and\nwas renewed in 2017 for another five years. In both agreements, the air\ntravel\u2019s logo was to appear at the front of Real\u2019s jerseys and be advertised on\nits LED boards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adidas shares a similar agreement although the attire\nmanufacturer\u2019s logo doesn\u2019t appear as prominently as that of Fly Emirates.\nSurprisingly, Adidas contract with Real Madrid is worth \u20ac1 billion and began\nway back in 1998. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Betting Partners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like Barcelona, Madrid boasts of partnerships with several\nbookmakers. Bwin is the club\u2019s official partner on online platforms. The\nbookmaker initiated a deal with the football side in 2007. In the next five\nyears, Bwin\u2019s name appeared on Madrid\u2019s jerseys. But in 2013, the bookie was\nrelegated to represent Madrid online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Los Blancos gained a new betting partner in ManBetX last\nyear in a deal that will run until 2020. ManBetX will be the club’s official\npartners in Asia. The agreement’s details were not revealed, but it involves a\n“six-figure contract. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manchester United\nSponsors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

US carmaker Chevrolet is the principal jersey sponsor of\nManchester United. The two brands partnered in 2014 in a deal set to expire in\n2021. In true Manchester style, the financial agreement with Chevrolet was not disclosed<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it\u2019s not difficult to imagine how significant the deal\nwas for United. The club has remained in the top three of the most valuable\nsports brands in the world since 2014. According to UK sports channels, the red\ndevils receive an estimated \u00a353 million per year from Chevrolet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adidas produce United\u2019s kits in a 10-year agreement valued\nat \u00a3750 million. The German-based sports attire manufacturer sealed the deal\nwith United in 2014, replacing Nike. The deal was the biggest in United\u2019s\nhistory and the most valuable partnership between a club and an attire\nmanufacturer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Betting Partners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manchester United surprisingly doesn\u2019t hold partnerships\nwith major gaming companies. The company\u2019s first betting partnership was sealed\nwith Bwin in 2012. Like the agreement in Madrid, Bwin was to become United\u2019s\nonline betting partner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, the red devils confirmed a second betting\npartner, MoPlay. Nothing much about the agreement was revealed, but the betting\napp will remain partners with United for at least two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barcelona rules the sports world in sponsorships, and it\u2019s\nin no hurry to relinquish its top spot. After a few companies ended their\ncontracts with the club earlier this year, it\u2019s already sealed new\npartnerships. 1XBET is set to become the club\u2019s betting partner for the next\nfour years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club’s rivals, Barcelona and Real Madrid, are also\nhunting for partnerships too. So, if Barcelona loses any more partners, it may\nnot remain at the top of the world’s sponsorship deals for long.<\/p>\n
