Top 3 Matches To Watch this Weekend – 24 Aug to 27 Aug 2018.

The 2018/2019 European football season has already kicked into full gear, with the Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A set to resume for game week two, after the English Premier League has given us an intriguing match day one and two.

As with any weekend of football during European season, there are a plethora of fixtures that caught interest, and the majority of the fixtures may not be blockbuster clashes, there are quite a number of top games to look ahead to. Below are the five biggest must watch football matches in Europe this weekend.

MANCHESTER UNITED VS TOTTENHAM

After matchday one and two spectacles in the Premier League. The blockbuster fixture for matchday three will take place at Old Trafford on Monday 27th August 2018. Tottenham Hotspur will be the visitor as they embark on a journey to add salt to the wound of Manchester United after last weekend defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.

There is no better time to go up against United than now. What makes this Monday’s match a little interesting for Tottenham. Even if the rumours are true that Mourinho is unhappy and hates his players, and his players hate him right back, there will forever be “Lads, it’s Tottenham” and United always seem to show up whenever they play Spurs, especially at home. You have to go back to 2014 to find Spurs’ last win at Old Trafford, and Tottenham only has two wins at Theater of dreams throughout the Premier League era. It’s not historically been a happy place for Spurs.

There are some [positive that Spurs can hang their hopes on thanks to the Brighton match. While United had the bulk of possession against the Seagulls, it wasn’t exactly free-flowing football. The midfield of Perreira-Fred-Pogba didn’t exactly set the world on fire, and Spurs target Anthony Martial, starting for the injured Alexis Sanchez, looked deeply frustrated and unhappy. You’d rather go up against demoralized players than settled ones. you can checkout accumulator tips for the weekend.

Valladolid VS BARCELONA

Matchday two in the Spanish La Liga  for the 2018/2019 season will be underway this weekend. The game week one was a fruitful outing for Lionel Messi and co as they won their first game of the season comfortably against Alaves. With Lionel Messi masterclass always just a moment away in a game, Valladolid knows they are not safe.

Valladolid had an interesting game week one with a goalless draw against Girona. They will be hoping they can give it a go against the might Barcelona this weekend. The game will take place at Estadio Municipal Jose Zorilla on 25th August 2018.

With Valladolid seen as a weaker opponent by punters,  The expectation will be for Ernesto Valverde to start some Barcelona newest signings in like of Malcolm, Arthur, Lenglet and Arturo vidal. while others might start on the bench and get a chance later in the game depending on how the game proceeds. Everything points to a Barcelona  win unless the god of football decides to make the weekend interesting for neutral fans.

NAPOLI VS MILAN

The Serie A has some interesting games to offer this weekend for the 2018/2019 game week 2. The Cristiano Ronaldo hopeful Juventus against Lazio at the Juventus stadium. Inter Milan will play host to Torino at the San Siro stadium.

The most interesting matchup for us this weekend is the game between Napoli and AC Milan at the San Paolo stadium in Naples. Milan’s encounter with Genoa, which was suppose to be their first game of the season was postponed. The game against Napoli will the first game for Gattuso to show off what his Milan has been working on during the summer. Napoli started their Serie A season with an away win against Lazio on matchday one with a scoreline of 2to 1 in favour of Lazio.

The game is a battle of exes as both teams have former players and coach of each other in their ranks. As for Milan, Gonzalo Higuain and Pepe Reina will play against their former team, Both of them joined the Rossoneri this summer. Unfortunately, another former Napoli man Ivan Strinic won’t take part due to injury. In regards to Napoli, their new manager Carlo Ancelotti will face his old side, with which he won the Champions League twice. Ex-Rossonero Simone Verdi could also make an appearance, although he’s expected to start on the bench. visit our partner site Footyaccums for more info on this weekends matches.
